Rural Exchange

Sectors

The rural economy is made-up of multiple sectors. Many of these are land-based sectors such as farming, forestry and mining, however, these are not the only activities that occur in rural areas and many other businesses operate from and service these places. Whilst some of the challenges of conducting business in the countryside are universal, others are more sector-specific. In our NISRIE project we are looking at the issues faced by multiple different sectors, including fisheries, the accommodation, and the child care sectors.
